This site keeps one value in your browser, which records the choice you make on this banner. No analytics, no advertising, nothing shared with anybody. Read the cookie note

Cookies, all one of them

Most sites open this page with a paragraph about improving your experience. Here is the honest version instead: this site stores exactly one value in your browser, it exists so a banner does not nag you on every page, and nothing about you leaves this site.

The short version

One item of local storage, holding your answer to the cookie banner. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no social scripts, no fonts pulled from somewhere else, no embedded players, no tag managers. If you block storage entirely, the site works and the banner asks again on each visit.

What the stored value contains

A short word recording that you accepted or declined, and nothing more. There is no identifier in it, no reference to your enquiry, no record of which pages you read and no timestamp we collect. It is not transmitted to us at any point; it is read by the page in your own browser to decide whether to show the banner.

Because it is tied to this site in your browser, it is not visible to any other site, and it does not follow you anywhere.

What we deliberately do not use

No visitor statistics package. We genuinely do not know how many people read a given article, which is occasionally frustrating and is the price of not tracking anybody. No advertising, because there is nothing to advertise and nobody pays us. No heat mapping, no session recording, no newsletter pixel.

The contact form and your session

Submitting the form sends what you typed to the server so that it can reach us. That transfer is not a cookie and nothing about it is stored in your browser afterwards. There is no login on this site, so there is no session to maintain and no authentication token to keep.

What happens to the content of the form afterwards is set out in the privacy note: it is used to reply to you and deleted within twelve months at the outside.

Clearing it yourself

Every browser has a way to clear site data for a single site, usually behind the padlock or information icon next to the address, or in the privacy section of the settings. Clear it for this site and the stored value goes. Private browsing achieves the same thing automatically when you close the window.

If any of this changes

It is unlikely, because the site has nothing to gain from measuring you. If we ever did add anything, this page would say so before it went live and the banner would ask you again rather than carrying an old answer forward.

If you think something on the site is setting storage we have not described here, telephone and tell us. That would be a fault and we would want to fix it the same day.
